  1. 1981 - The year our conquest began. Our leader is Rencil Wrathmonger. We went to Pennsic X with about a half dozen fighters.

  2. 1982 - Darkmoon becomes an incipient shire and is listed in the Pale for the first time.

  3. 1983 - At Pennsic XII we number around a dozen. It was a hot war with lots and lots of sunblock.

  4. 1984 - Darkmoon holds it's first event...SCA-Con. At Pennsic this year Stan crept into the Tu-Chux camp and rang their gong. Darkmoon went down the next day and fought the Chux in their camp...Chux rules. The Woods battle was canceled five minutes into it due to bees.

  5. 1985 - Darkmoon holds it's first fighting event "The Lifting of the Curse".

  6. 1986 - Due to internal debates Darkmoon and it's Ball State members split up forming two seperate groups. Ball State became Afonlyn, and Darkmoon continued with the remaining members.

  7. 1987 - Rencil misses Pennsic XVI and the group makes his brother Snarfle Otter the new King of Darkmoon. This was the first year of the French Quarter. Also the first year we chose not to fight with the Indiana fighters, we feel this helped us to develop our group's individuality.

  8. 1988 - Darkmoon makes it's presence known at Pennsic XVII with our NEW War Shields!

  9. 1989 - Viking King Snarfle knights Spear Bob in a beautiful ceremony. We camped next to Fenix beside the Chux.

  10. 1990 - All Darkmoon Cords are given back to Viking King Snarfle. Snarfle is then crowned the first Valhakar of Darkmoon. Snarfle also received the first Werewolf Belt. We all came up and pledged ourselves to Darkmoon and received Darkmoon Cords.

  11. 1991 - First year for the Castle Front (with two solar showers). Eight Werewolf Belts are given out over the year, and three Cords.

  12. 1992 - Darkmoon receives The Order of the Dragon's Teeth award by King Ronin of Darkmoon.

  13. 1993 - Five new War Shields are made for Pennsic XXII. Darkmoon pays War Pigs to fight for them.

  14. 1994 - Running water in camp at Pennsic XXIII !!!. First year for NEW Pavilion. Five Cords are given out.

  15. 1995 - Snarfle steps down from the Valhakar position and Kryzwel is made the second Valhakar of Darkmoon. Filtered water in camp!!! Tu-Chux were kicked out of Pennsic. Six Cords, seven belts, and four Vambraces were given out.

  16. 1996 - Screw up on Land Allotment and we received half our allocation. First year for the Big Kahuna (Bus). First year for HOT WATER in camp. Darkmoon fighters received favours from Queens of the Middle and East Kingdoms. We fought for our friends the East Kingdom on the Bridge, helping to bring them victory. Meurisse de la Lune Sombre was Knighted.

  17. 1997 - At Pennsic XXVI Darkmoon was put on doublesecret probation, but the warning was lifted due to overwelming support of Darkmoon. Constellation Army was awarded the Dragon's Teeth for the Bridge Battle (our second). Added two more shower towers to the Castle Front making our Front span 60 feet. Gave out six Cords, three Belts and one Vambrace. Antonio Cellini was Knighted.

  18. 1998 - Due to mundane pressures several members were unable to attend Pennsic. Fighting was still good...best quote was from Katsu and Tark who said "The East looked like wood going thru a wood chipper on your Bridge"...thanks guys. Mike Doub was awarded the Douber award for service to the Household. At court Lunal and Katherine were married in the eyes of their Darkmoon family. Gave out seven Cords and four Belts at War...four Vambraces were given at Feast in October.

  19. 1999 - Battles at Pennsic had no war point values. Eastern bridge battle commanders were ordered not to engage the bridge that Darkmoon was on, but to only place a token force on our bridge. Brought in seven Corded members, two Vambraces and two Belts in 1999. Gerwulf af Dokktungle was regional co-commander with Caelan and was Knighted at Pennsic.

  20. 2000 - Gerwulf was XO to Caelan. During Pennsic Sachsa got second in the Tu Chux tourney. Lady Brigit received the award of the Purple Fret. Daniel had a hand in taken the East's banner in the Woods Battle. Our shield wall held the entire Bridge Battle despite heavy pushes from the East at times. This was the first trip to Pennsic for "Kahuna the 2nd". Brought in four corded members and belted six fighters to the status of Werewolves.

  21. 2001 - Darkmoon's 20th year celebration. We brought in three new members and two honorary members. Handed out two Werewolf belts. Daniel was XO to War Commander Caelan. David Lee hosted Junk Yard Wars as a finale' to the years team competition. Held a Tacky Boxer short/Beach party....party. All in all a high spirited War.

  22. 2002 - Daniel of the Lakes was regional XO to Caelan, then was knighted during the year. At Pennsic Joe hosted the Newbie Challenge. The German Minstrels played for us prior to Court (the Polar Bear dance). Shane was Promoted to Sgt of Darkmoon. Sasha received the award of the Dove and Gold Mace. Katsu camped with us once again. We brought in 4 new members and one returning member, one Vambrace and one Werewolf belt. This is a snipet that was found floating around the internet about us on the first Bridge Battle. .."I fought on the Constellation Bridge. We had gained ground early and were enjoying the fruits of DarkMoons labors as the enemy was being decimated in front of that mighty shield wall. I had to replace a downed Darkmoon shieldman early on and spent the majority of that 30 minute battle hunkered down behind a warboard with spearmen dueling over my head. Eventually we swept the enemy from our bridge. DarkMoon then set up a wall to hold the bridge and their commanders ordered all mercenaries and vagabonds like myself to charge off the end of the bridge and engage the enemies backfield....

  23. 2003 - Belted 4 members and 2 received Vambraces. Outnumbered by East 1200-600 for most battles. The group was awarded another Dragons Teeth. Wolgemut played in camp prior to Court. Period Fireworks were displayed behind the Castle. It was the 1st year for our new Castle Front. Several DM'ers were inducted into the Red Company. Theme Night was 70's Pimp Night. Our camp was over crowded. Angus was made an XO at Pennsic.

  24. 2004 - Corded 5 new members. Gerwulf was Constellation Commander. Wolgemut played prior to Court. First year we tried shower tents....and out last year to use them. Group received 'Augmentation of Device' from HRM Felix. He called us "Mid-Realm's sword of retribution" and gave us the augmentation of a flaming sword. The Hero's Bridge Battle was comprised or Knights, Un-belts, Darkyard and Darkmoon only. The un-belt team won their Champions Battle. Mini-Me was squired by Kelmain. Fall Feast hosted by Angus and Jillian.

  25. 2005 - Belted 3 members. Theme Night was Hilljack Night. Wolgemut played prior to Court. Odo's first year camping with us. Fall Feast was hosted by Dan.

  26. 2006 - Corded 4 new members. One member received the Vambrace. This was DM's 25th anniversary. Theme Night was Hawaiian Luau. Angus was knighted. Fall Feast hosted by Angus and Jillian. Mustafa and Odo camped with us, Mustafa snapped his achilles tendon while in combat. Fall Feast was hosted by Dan and Eric.

  27. 2007 - Corded 2 new members. Belted 3 members and one received a Vambrace. Pennsic was moved forward one week on the calendar. Constructed new shower floors. Members in camp-30, 18 were fighters. Zulu danced on Bridge. Fall Feast hosted by Erzabet and the Val. Theme Night was House Craig. Set a firm date for future Feasts...either the last weekend of Sept or the first weekend of Oct from now on. Erzabet received a Dragon's Tooth.

  28. 2008 - Corded 4 new members. Members in camp -37, 28 fighters. Darkmoon was King's Guard (Lutr). Angus was Queen's Champion. Pelly was King's Champion. Bryce went out early for Land Grab. Theme Night was Latino Gang Night. We received our Darkmoon Mug order. Pelly was Knighted. The group received new un-belt tunics from Bryce and Rae. The un-belts won....the first time 10 DM'ers made the team. Rom was squired by Gerwulf. Opie received a Dragon's Tooth. Enok received a Dragon's Tooth. Feast was hosted by Shane and Arlindis.

  29. 2009 - Dan was punched in the face during the last field battle. DM walked off the field. Corey received a Dragon's Tooth. Andy received a Gold Mace. Tark & Katsu fought with us. Mon and Tues was Mid vs East, no battle on wed, Thur & Fri was Mid/East vs Allies. Atlantia awarded our gate 1st place on their Heraldic Walk. Bus broke down in Ft Wayne on way home...clutch gone.

  30. 2010 - New Tables and benches. Replaced clutch on bus and added racks over wheel wells. New woods for Woods Battle. Darkmoon did not fight this battle due to Poison Ivy. Opie tore bicep trying to move pencil on set up day. Group voted to give Tark an honorary cord...then decide later what honorary means. Theme Night was Pirates. Hot war- the group went thru 17 containers of water. Bess captured the Bridge by loitering and received a Dragon's Tooth. New Coin on Castle Front. Dan awarded the Douber award. Pelly was General of the Mid Realm.

  31. 2011 - Darkmoon XXX (30th anniversary) -Surrender Monkey was King so we were outnumbered by roughly 250 the entire war. -Was awarded the Dragon's Teeth (4th) for controlling 2 bridges at the end of the 2nd bridge battle. -Had 38 fighters during the bridge battles, 37 during the field battles. -Counting Jon (Earl Marshal), Pelly (Midrealm General), Fred and Mudd we had 42 fighters on site. -Hula Hoop Holmgang -DM challenge coins -Viking arm bands handed out during Court -Cornhole tourney -King John burgers wasn't there. -Liz passed the Treasurers position to Corny. -New tires for the bus. -New floors for the showers -64 DM family members attended war, 50 were corded members. -Camp was 100ft wide and 200-210ft deep
